Biography
Amy and her husband Jim have been in love with Kirkland, since moving into the area in 2005.
Originally from Oregon, Amy attended University in Australia, and practiced law there until permanently returning to the Northwest in 1994. She took accounting classes at Portland State University while working at a dealership in Oregon. Now Amy is a Houghton Neighborhood resident. She is currently the controller for Ford of Kirkland and served as controller for large companies since 1997.
After completing treatment for breast cancer in 2005, Amy returned to work at Ford of Kirkland, and became very involved in community outreach. Amy has been active as a fundraiser for the Komen Race for the Cure Puget Sound Chapter and has helped organizations such as Meow, Old Dog Haven, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Kirkland Pace Race and Evergreen Hospital. She has organized blood drives and highway clean ups in Kirkland through “Adopt a Highway.”
Amy is passionate about collaboration between the citizens, City staff and the City Council, and believes that we, as citizens, have a responsibility to make thoughtful decisions that contribute to our community. Amy lives and works in Kirkland and believes in supporting local businesses in her community.
